Services
Our goal at SO by Yue is to help you put your best smile forward. We know how valuable your time is so we pride ourselves in customizing your treatment plan to your smile goals, your schedule and your budget. Below you will find more information about the different services we provide.
Traditional Braces
METAL BRACKETS are made out of stainless steel and are attached to the front surface of each tooth with special ‘glue’. With advances in technology, the brackets we now use are smaller, less bulky and way more comfortable. Brackets are precisely positioned tooth by tooth to move your teeth to the desired smile. Wires are held to the brackets by elastomeric rings which come in a variety of colors and can be customized each visit!
CLEAR BRACKETS are made out of ceramic and are also attached to the front surface of each tooth. They work the same way as metal brackets do but offers a more esthetic option for those concerned with the look of metal. The brackets blend in with your teeth so well that only the visible aspect is the wire that will be held on by clear elastomeric rings.
Early Treatment
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends all children visit an orthodontist around the age of 7 when the first permanent molars start to come in. At this age, Dr Yue can identify any abnormal jaw growth that will potentially interfere with permanent teeth eruption. In some cases, early orthopedic therapy to address skeletal discrepancies can prevent the need for future jaw surgery. Orthodontic treatment produces the best results while the jawbone is still growing. WHAT CAN EARLY TREATMENT FIX? Tongue/thumb sucking, Sleep Apnea, Constricted Jaws, Crooked front teeth, Underbite.
Clear Aligners
For those who desire a straight smile without the hassle or appearance of metal braces, clear aligners may be the option for you. Clear aligners have progressed tremendously over the past two decades with clinically proven results. Each aligner will move your teeth to the final customized position based on your individual needs and goals. And the best part? They are barely visible and can be easily removed to eat, drink and clean.
If you are interested in clear aligners; we are proud providers of both INVISALIGN aligners and SPARK CLEAR aligners. Let us help you figure out which aligners will be the best fit for you and your smile.
Craniofacial Orthodontics
Cleft Lip and Palate is one of the most common congenital birth defects following down syndrome. Treatment is best managed in a team setting composed of all specialties such as plastic surgeons, speech pathologist and orthodontist. Dr Yue is a fellowship trained Craniofacial Orthodontist who specializes in treating patients with cleft lip and palate. Orthodontic treatment for cleft patients typically occurs in phases. PHASE ONE starts around 8-9 years of age as Dr Yue collaborates with the surgeon to align the teeth and expand the jaw prior to bone grafting. THE SECOND PHASE of the orthodontic treatment begins around 10-12 years of age. This phase will be focused on straightening the teeth and fixing the bite.
Jaw Surgery
For mild skeletal discrepancies, orthodontics alone can be sufficient to address your bite without the need to undergo surgery. However, there are situations where braces alone can not correct a severe skeletal discrepancy or facial disharmony such as a severe underbite, overbite, and jaw asymmetry. The best esthetic and functional result can be delivered through a combination of orthodontics and surgery. Regardless of the reason for surgery, Dr Yue will collaborate with the surgeon to align your teeth properly to allow for maximum desired surgical correction. We understand that surgery can be overwhelming, but know that we are always on your side and will be available to answer any questions you might have.
Nasoalvolear Molding
Nasoalvolear Molding is a non-invasive technique that is performed during infancy to both reduce cleft size as well as improve nasal symmetry prior to initial lip and nose surgery. Adjustments to the NAM plate and nasal stent are made weekly. The result is a tension free surgical outcome with the possibility of avoiding future revision surgeries.
